The Let's Talk Bigfoot show is in planning stages to make a come back. Please be patient and we'll be back before long!

Whether you call it a bigfoot, sasquatch, yeti, almasty, omah, bogeyman or a host of other names, there's no shortage of reports of big hair covered bipedal creatures around the globe. People are seeing something and we want to know what that something is. Listen to the archived shows as we discuss the subject with witnesses, researchers, investigators, scientists, and skeptics in order to bring well balanced points of view and the latest information to listeners. Sponsored by the Alliance of Independent Bigfoot Researchers (http://www.bigfootresearch.com) we have access to the who's who in research and we'll bring the notables of bigfootdom pro and con onto the show to discuss the phenomenon.

Adrienne Mayor is an independent folklorist/historian of science who investigates natural knowledge contained in pre-scientific myths and oral traditions. Her research looks at ancient "folk science" precursors, alternatives, and parallels to modern scientific methods. Mayor's two books on pre-Darwinian fossil traditions in classical antiquity and in Native America have opened up a new field within geomythology, and her book on the origins of biological weapons uncovered the ancient roots of biochemical warfare. Mayor is active in classical folklore, and is also a Visiting Scholar in Classics. Her research has been featured on NPR and BBC, the History Channel, and other popular media, most recently in the New York Times and National Geographic; her books are translated into Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Hungarian, Polish, and Modern Greek. For fun: the History Channel's "Ancient Monster Hunters" is based on Mayor's first book, and popular novelists frequently draw on her findings, for example, Helen of Troy and Memoirs of Cleopatra by Margaret George; The Gryphon's Skull by H. Turteltraub; Dark Fire by C.J. Sansom; and Brad Thor's thriller Blowback. Current project: the life and legend of Mithridates, scourge of Rome and the world's first experimental toxicologist.

Books

Please join us to talk with the creator of "Laughsquatch" Robert Swain and his son Jamie.

Robert, his wife Michal, and their son Jamie live in Winona, Mississippi. Robert has a BA in Bible and Religious Ministries and a BFA in painting with an emphasis in illustration from Harding University.
The Swains serve as missionaries for the church of Christ. They spend part of the year overseas mainly in Central and South America and the rest of the year in Mississippi where they publish books in the Spanish language for the church under Gospel Opportunities Publications.

Robert has had a life-long interest in the Bigfoot phenomenon starting with the Legend of Boggy Creek. Most of his life he has been an armchair Squatcher, reading and watching anything on this subject that came his way. Only in the past two years has he once again shown an interest in field research and being involved in the ever-growing Bigfoot community. Although he and his son Jamie haven't seen a bigfoot or other evidence, they have had an interesting wood knocking event and Robert had a weird experience in the middle of the night with a dog and a really bad smell while driving near Tupelo, MS on the Natchez Trace.
In January of 2007 Robert started to officially draw the Laughsquatch cartoons. Laughsquatch is a one-panel cartoon similar to the Far Side cartoon produced by Gary Larson. At the present, the Laughsquatch cartoons number over 300! He is hoping that the Laughsquatch cartoon will be picked up by a cartoon syndication company and will be read by millions in their Sunday funnies.

Robert can be reached at
Robert@laughsquatch.com or (501) 733-5485

Please check out www.Laughsquatch.com for sample cartoons. The sample cartoons will be up for only a few days after the LTB interview.

The bigfoot community lost a man of incredible ethics and integrity today - Tim Cullen. He was a very dear friend to so many - his loss will be felt for years to come. Tim was a founding member and director of the Alliance of Independent Bigfoot Researchers and a moderator at the Bigfoot Forums - two places that he, had he not been a part of, likely wouldn't exist today.

Tim leaves behind the love of his life, Gina, and his lovely daughter Jordan.

We are replaying this interview of Tim, originally airing 8-15-2007, so that you can get a wee taste of a man we all loved and respected.

Rest with God Tim. We will miss you.

Join us for part II of our interview with Bill Munns. If you think you've heard all Bill has to say you're wrong. He'll be discussing with us among other things: the idea of his for test filming to actually study detail lost in the 16mm process.
He will also talk about why the industry people back in the late 60's and early 70's seemed to find the PG Film more authentic, while FX/creature guys today almost uniformly dismiss it as a cheap fake (the reason might surprize you, and it doesn't have anything to do with the truth of the film).

Join us for this show. We haven't heard all there is to hear from this impressive guest!

Join us to talk about bigfoot, the PG film, and hoaxes with Bill Munns, known for creating the Gigantopithecus statue often seen on TV. Bill is a veteran movie "creature guy" who got started in 1967 and studied under Mike Westmore. He joined Universals makeup staff in 1969 and created the Blackenstein Monster in 1970, designed the suits for Swamp Thing (and wore the villain suit for the last half of the climactic fight and death scene in the swamps), created the BirdWarrior suits for Beastmaster, made an orang suit for a little man for the ABC-TV series "Probe", made five full ape suits for a 2001-Dawn of Man sequence commercial parody for AST computers, and put more real chimpanzees into gorilla suits than anybody else in Hollywood.

Note: On August 14th just 14 days after we interviewed him, Danne was killed in a tragic automobile accident. We will miss him very much. Rest in peace Danne. Our condolences go out to Danne's family and we hope that they find comfort, perhaps in some small way, knowing his words and memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
