TalkObjectivism is an interactive podcast and blog for radicals of reason. Its purpose is to serve as a forum for those interested in Ayn Rand's philosophy of rational selfishness: Objectivism. On the podcast, we discuss how reason can be applied to various aspects of our lives, in both personal and political matters. It was founded so that we may learn and grow as Objectivists and help others in the process. We are not necessarily experts on philosophy, but we are radicals for reason.

Since the Saturday before this show I held a large art/music event, I was little tired. I was trying to make it a quick show, but I got a caller that like to talk. The caller himself seemed like a good guy, but I was not to sure about what he was talking about. Since I was not informed on the topic I was not able to debate him.

When I finally got him to wrap it up, he supplied me with links to read up on. I would like to post them (Links: iamsovereign.org and citizenstribunal.com) so we can all read up on what he was talking about and better debate people like him. He had a few good points but I think his reasoning to get him to them were off.

If you know anything about what he was talking about please send me an email and/or come on the show. I would like to try to convince this guy and people like him to read about objectivism and I think that would help them better understand there situation.

I was also lucky to get a caller who wanted to talk about Foreign Policy. This was one of the better conversations on the subject I have had in a long time.

On last this show, I talk about an email I received from an Ayn Rand hater. In the email they tell me that they like my show but are not a fan of objectivism. So I ask them to tell me why. I find that most people hate objectivism because they donâ??t understand its principles, Metaphysics, Epistemology, Human Nature, Ethics, Politics, and Esthetics.

Brandon and I talked about the first essay in The Virtue of Selfishness, called The Objectivist Ethics. The essay talks about the core values and virtues of objectivism. It closes with a very short description of how they apply to a political system, but manly focuses on man as an individual.

On this show Brandon and I talked to one of our new listeners. I don't really know his real name but he goes by GhostDogAlpha on talkshoe.com. He seemed to be very informed on objectivism, but we couldn't tell if he was just a libertarian that supported Ayn Rand. We hope to talk to him again and maybe we will find out.

The show started off with Eli, our Mormon listener, informing us that Gorge Bush announced a national day of prayer. We talked about how this might not be the best use of power and how it might go against the separation of church and state. We then talked about what Atheist do in the courtroom since that really can't swear on the Bible. Lastly we had a quick discussion about how the roads and police would be funded in a free capitalist society. Thanks to our listeners that called in this was an exciting show.

On the podcast recorded May 20th, Brandon informs us that Leonard Peikoff answered our question about the Virginia Tech Shooting.

(Goto http://www.talkobjectivism.com to see the email from Peikoff.)

I would like to thank Brandon for making the effort to send the email. Also after reading what Peikoff had to say, it seems that we came to the same conclusion. It’s nice to know that the show is working and we are all learning from each other.

We also talked about some of the many comments from our new listeners and readers. One of the ones we talked about was immigration. I was watching the news and saw that there is new immigration legislation so I thought I would bring it up on the show. We were just talking about this last week so that means that talkobjectivism.com is on the leading edge of Political discussion.
