In these podcasts, Ward and Tami explored various aspects of the garden story in Genesis 1-3 in light of the analogy of Scripture. We also discussed the nature of the kingdom of God and our redemption, and how the metaphors in Genesis are repeated by the prophets and the New Testament writers as they consistently reveal Jesus Christ and the glory of His salvation and righteousness, the dominion of His Kingdom, and the accomplishment of His eternal presence with His people.

In this podcast Ward Fenley and Tami Jelinek are joined by special guest John Hedges. We discuss some general trends in preteristic thought and teaching, and contrast them with a Biblical response to fulfilled redemption: moving beyond proving the timing of fulfillment to discover its impact on our lives and relationships. We revisit the "now what?" questions we first asked upon seeing the past fulfillment of "end times" prophetic texts. How do we experience the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies in our lives? What is the chief characteristic of the Kingdom of God, and how do we communicate it with relevance to those around us?

We discuss not only the stagnant movement of preterism and why the movement cannot grow in its present state, but also the primary characteristics needed in the church and kingdom of God to inspire those whose trust is in the finished work of the cross and presence of Jesus Christ.

In this discussion, Shannon, Ward and Karrie addressed some concerns new homeschoolers typically have about educating their children. We discussed how home education is different from "school at home." Some specific topics covered were developing a radically different attitude toward education, dealing with different learning styles, learning not to compare your children's academic progress with others, and incorporating education into everyday activities. Special emphasis was given to providing a solid, Biblical foundation in all aspects of home education.

On 2/3/08 Ward was a guest on Sam Frost's and Jason Bradfield's podcast, RCM Live. The purpose of the show was to discuss their differing views toward the reading of metaphor in Scripture, with specific emphasis on the garden story in Genesis and how it relates to the book of Revelation; and also the role of science in our lives and in theology. Since we have had so many requests for the recording and it has not yet been made available through RCM, we are making it available here. As Ward has acknowledged, the debate became a little intense at times. But his beliefs were communicated, and overall, we feel there were some important things clarified. Hopefully all who listen will gain a better understanding of some of the most significant issues in this ongoing discussion within the Preterist community.

We discussed Brian's article, The Heavens and the Earth, which lays out a framework for understanding this metaphorical reference to God's people throughout Scripture. Some specific topics addressed include: the significance of the cosmological creation in Scripture; and the importance of viewing "the heavens and the earth" consistently throughout Scripture, with examples from Genesis, the Psalms, the prophets, New Testament epistles and Revelation. We also touched briefly on specific metaphorical elements of the garden story. We encourage feedback and participation in this on-going discussion.

"A Covenant Palette: Coloring Outside the Lines of Religious Dogma," with artist Jim Kessler. We discussed Jim's artwork, with specific emphasis on his two paintings, "Apocalyptic Vision" and "The Scroll and the Serpent", the questions they ask, and the covenantal and redemptive themes throughout Scripture they portray. Specific emphasis was given to the "creation" account and garden story in the early chapters of Genesis.
